Kallera - 11/10/2016
It was afternoon at Quarrymill. the usual bustle of adventurers had put a halt to immigration to Gridania. Originally Quarrymill was to serve as a place to determine if the selected immigrants had a place as a citizen in Gridania. There the Elementals would see if they were worthy. but with the large influx of adventurer squatters and attention focused on the unearthed Gelmorran ruins, this system was put on hold, leaving some struggling travelers stranded.
A family was among them, a mother and father around 30 summers old and a boy of about 6. They were asked to leave, but they were unable to afford the travel, not willing to cause a scene, the Conjurers decided to keep them in Quarrymill until further instructions or signs of the Elementals' displeasure came. One morning his mother and father were seen frantically searching among a throng of adventurers, their son not among them...

Having stopped in Quarrymill, the shinobi found himself offput by the crowd that had flocked here. Jeez... Those ruins he heard about must have been the big thing now a days. Still, they weren't what he was looking into. As he pushed past the crowd, he noticed something out of the ordinary. A couple were frantically looking about, seemed they had lost something... Well, he deigned to investigate. Takeshi was more than willing to help and do his part, without thoughts of payment. He just wanted to see someone happy.
"Excuse me.. Is everything all right?" His accent was less thick than his arrival years ago, but it was still evident. His tail flicked about, as he waited patiently. Hopefully he could help...
Kallera - 11/10/2016
The first they ran into was a Miqote. His thick accent was a clear sign that he was not from around here, but he looked one of those rougish types. The husband continued to search among the adventurers while the wife explained: "Have you seen a child around here, about this tall, blond hair?"
Kian - 11/10/2016
He pondered momentarily, before shaking his face. "No... I've not seen any children here. Not within the camp, anyways.." Not good.. A Missing child? He felt obligated to help them now. He looked about for a monent, as if trying to pick out any one who might fit the description, before adding. "I'll gladly help you search, though... When was the last time you saw him? Did anything happen that might have made him run away? Just.. asking to get a better pictute of the situation."
Kallera - 11/10/2016
Another pair of eyes would be helpful. She describes the situation as best as she could. "We had tried explaining to Petyr that we are going to have to stay here a while...because of everything that been going on. Petyr didn't understand, kept talking about the adventurers being let in..."
The husband continued to search among the adventurers, moving past an elezen in a elaborate pink robe and black leather boots. She seemed to be someone from around here, but looked too deep in thought to be bothered. He continued looking.
Kian - 11/10/2016
Ah, so it was a matter of discontent... He felt bad, really. "I see.. It must be very frustrating. A lot of people here don't understand the burden they are putting on others. A shame, but such is as it goes..." The miqo'te then pondered, before looking to the gates. "He may have left Quarrymill, and if that is the case, I will go search. He won't be safe out there..." Somewhere, deep down, he felt a want to protect the child. What was motivating him, he couldn't be sure, but it felt both good and bad. An eagerness to search and protect, hope to see them safe, mixed with dread and worry.
For the moment, The shinobi moved to a nearby building and with his blades, scaled up what he couldn't latch onto, and got up to the roofs. From here he could see more. Where might he find a young blonde child? Hiding near boxes? Up on the rafters? At the top of the walls, where the wailers patrolled? Or were they truly out beyond the camp? --- If he had no luck spotting any potential children, Takeshi would find his way to the top walls, and begin searching beyond the camp, whatever was in spotting distance.
Kallera - 11/11/2016
As the nimble miqote checked the upper levels of the camp. The wife found a clue outside, a mirror apple near the road that she had bought for him, in the direction of the upper paths. The miqote was at the top of the walls, checking the immediate area. From the grocer that she had purchased the apples from, mirror apples were farmed from further in. But the parents didn't know where the farm was and the miqote might not either. The husband checked again for someone who knew the roads.

He'd been observing like a hawk, and when the wife had seemingly found something, he waited to see what it was. Some kind of fruit, he could make out... An apple? Maybe she'd gotten that for the child before he left... Maybe, that was the direction he'd gone? A whine could be heard as he tried to discern what to do. This.. could need more than one person. There was a need for a search party, and he was only one man! The only thing left to do was to get back on the rooftops, at a lower level, to get above the crowd that remained near the wailers in charge of the ruins. Once he made his way down to the rooftop above, he stood up and let out a air piercing whistle, to catch attention.
"Pardons for interrupting; I have a request to make of capable adventurers. While you all were dawdling here, a Citizen Couple lost their child, a Blonde boy, goes by Petyr. They've been trying to get attention, but none of you were paying them mind. So now that I've woke everyone up, who here would like to assist me in helping these parents find their child? I need people who know the roads here, who have good eyes, and who can protect. ... Take a moment, before you volunteer, and consider whether or not you're truly willing. I won't allow the couple to pay us for our efforts. I want only people who will do this out of the love in their hearts, for the want to see a child safely home, or, to see justice to those who took him from us." He then crossed his arms, and waited patiently, to see who would still volunteer. He knew many adventurers wouldn't work without payment, but, there were a rare few who did things for good, rather than fortune. He wanted to weed out the greedy and cowardly, in case matters worsened and they had to truly put their efforts forward to defend, protect, or seek out justice.

It was just another day at Qarrymill, adventures coming and going. People doing the tricks of the trade, making deals for food, and passage to the different capitals of Eorzea. Sitting upon her Chocobo reading a book called "The mechanics of being a machinest." The young Miqo'te sipped on some orange juice as she red and people watched.
Her ears perked up as someone asked for help. Now, she wasn't one to turn down helping others. She learned the way of the Ninja and preferred to do things in stelth and to be done as smoothly as possible. It didn't seem like many wanted to help out, there was no reward and you'd be risking your life for a family you didn't even know. But she knew South Shroud like the back of her hand due to her studies. She bit her lip and closed her book and hopped off of Haru, her Chocobo.
Tying the chocobo up, she walked toward Takashi, "Excuse me. I do know this area quite well." She said adjusting her belt and her satchel that held her healing globe, for just-in-case scenarios. "Might I offer helping hand? The boy hand blonde hair you say?"

Kallera had drifted asleep waiting for an appraisal from the hut nearby. Suddenly a loud whistle pierced through her dream woke her up. "pardons for interrupting; I have a request to make of capable adventurers..." She knew that voice. "While you were all dwadling here, a Citizen Couple lost their boy..." that thick accent... "A blonde boy, by the name of Petyr. They've been trying to get attention, but none of you were paying them mind." Sweet innocent Takeshi. She listened in as Takeshi made his request of the crowd, he was looking for people to help him search, good people willing to take a moment of their time to see their boy home. "Take a moment, before you volunter, and consider whether or not you're truly willing. I won't allow the couple to pay us for their efforts. I want only people who will do this out of the love in their hearts..." He then waited for a response from among them. After a moment, Kallera waved her hand. She pulled out a head of gyshal greens, and gave a whistle. In moments an orange chocobo came through the front gate, looking for his treat.
Seeing the parents Takeshi had mentioned, Kallera walked over and gave an introduction. "I'm from around here, if you have anything to help identify the kid that would help tremendously. If not" she put the greens to moomba's face "he won't mind a rider". Moomba kwehed as it gobbled up his treat, his loyalty bought to the seventh hell.
Kallera - 11/15/2016
Star, Takeshi, Kallera, and Moomba the chocobo made their way out of Quarrymill. Hanging onto the side of Moomba, a conversation took place between the husband and Kallera. The husband squirmed as he kept his hold, keeping out of the Wood Wailer's sight. The husband struggled to maintain his grip. "I-Is this really called sidesaddle?" Kallera whispered back "Oh yeah, totally....y'know us women have to do it all the time." "d-didn' think th' missus had it this rough on a 'bo." "Yeah, riding proper is such a drag." This was not, in fact, riding sidesaddle, but even as a "Grey" herself, Kallera couldn't resist some time-honored Gridanian traditions. "Take it from me and Moomba, when you're on long hours with a chocobo, whether it's its legs or your own, no one rides well uncomfortable...ok, up." She helped him up and into Moomba's saddle properly. The band was out of sight, and into the upper paths.

Takeshi scouted the Goblin's Meet, @star Amethysta went to check out the bandit camps near Silent Arbor for any activity, while Kallera took the father to the Mun-Tuy Cellars and an apple orchard located near there. It used to be that the Cellar were a hotbed of voidsent and sprites that made the place night unusable. now it was more or less functional, and clear of its former denizens. The father began calling out, "Petyr! Petyr!" . One of the cellar's brewer, a was outside. "Bugger off, we don't serve no Peters!" Kallera replied back. "I should hope not! The boy's not old enough." "eh? Ya mean...?" Kallera thought she was clear, or maybe the brewer was trying his own product... "You happen to see a boy around here?" "now why would a boy be hanging around here!" "Well, he's lost, for one thing." The brewer shouted to several people deeper in the cellars, before coming back with a reply, " Well, he ain't lost here, haven't seen so much as a stag's arse round here." That was more helpful than it sounded, wherever he went, the child did not leave towards east shroud. That left the orchard, and some of the less friendly locations in the upper paths....(edited)
Kallera - 12/20/2016
Traveling over to the orchard, The father started looking among the trees while Kallera talked to the farmer about the situation. Petyr was soon found by the father nearby, having wandered off to look for the "Gridanna" proper.
Kallera - Last Sunday at 9:20 AM
Returning to Quarrymill, the mother was elated. Star and Takeshi soon came back to the good news. They still had to remain in Quarry for the moment. That there wasn't any disturbance from the forest may have been a good sign. Petyr's family might be able find a new life in the forests.
