To be quite honest, Neva really had no idea what to do with herself. She was a free soul now, having just finally worked off her debt to the trope master. They'd been camping in the deserts of Central Thanalan, when Neva had realized she'd had the chance to be free. She almost didn't take it. To be quite frank, she did like living with the trope. They were family - to the extent indentured servitude could be considered family. They were her closest confidantes, her friends. And now...she had to leave them behind. Regardless, this was her new life. She had to find her baby sister. Ul'dah was the first place that came to the Miqo'te's mind. There would be information there, and all sorts of people. And she might consider learning how to fight. But first. The Adventurer's Guild. Neva scaled the Steps of Nald. -d-
It had been a few weeks since her accident, quite frankly she shouldn't of been by herself in Ul'dah. But, she remembered the talk of so many adventurers around that hub. Her heart beat picked up just from the thought of the possability of finding someone in the quicksands that might be able to help her and her memory problem. Glancing around as she arrived, she noticed Neva almost instantly. A tilt of her head, she approached her with curiousity. "Hello," she began with a small wave and a tilt of her head. "You look as lost as I do." she stated the obvious and hid behind her hood. She still wasn't right in the head so, she felt nervous. -d-
Neva looked up in surprise. She hadn't expected to be approached quite so soon. "H-hi," she stammered, cursing herself inwardly even as her ears flattened against her head, betraying her discomfort. Why was she being so timid? She was a free woman now. She answered to no one. "I just got here," she smiled toothily, revealing the tips of her sharp pointed fangs. "Still trying to get my bearings." Neva's eyes flickered around, taking in the varying types of people that populated the Quicksand. Across from the entrance way, she could see a Lalafell that looked as if she might be in charge. Sporting two bright red buns, the tiny thing chatted idly with adventures, laughing and joking. "Maybe we should start over there?" Neva asked, tilting her head in the direction of the little lady. "She might have some useful information, depending. I'm Neva by the way. Neva...L'aix." There was a slight pause before Neva said her surname. She hadn't affiliated herself with her tribe in a long time and the name still sat rather funny. -d-
If Star's hood was down, Neva would of seen the nervousness her ears held as well. Glancing over to the bar at the lalafell who was in charge of the place, she bit her lip. "I-I don't know if she'd be much help to me right now," she said with a small sheepish smile. "As did I, prehaps we can help each other?" she asked Neva as she lowered her hood and let her hair fall out around her shoulders. "Neva....it's nice to meet you." she said with a smile on her face. For one reason or another, she had chosen to hide her name. Something she had yet to figure out, but, none the less she went by the name Farfalla had suggested she go by. "I-I go by Star Amethysta," her ears twitched a bit and a small blush crossed her face. She was socializing just fine! She didn't need any help talking to people after all! "S-So...Neva, what brings you to Ul'dah?" -d-
Neva tilted her head to the side. What /was/ she doing in Ul'dah? She hadn't really gotten that far. She knew 1) she had to reunite with Nola and 2) she had to learn how to fight. "Nice to meet you Star," Neva smiled again, pretending not to notice the flush that creeped across Star's face. "I'm looking for information," Neva began. "And I heard Ul'dah was the place to go for that." It was a long shot. Maybe this Star might have heard of Nola? "Well, more importantly, I'm looking for my sister. We've been separated for a long time, so I don't really even know where to begin." Neva couldn't help the words that tumbled out of her mouth. Why was she spilling her life story to this stranger she just met? "Sorry if that was a bit much," she added sheepishly at the end. "I'm a little rusty on the small talk." -d-
Star leaned forward as she listened to Neva. "A Missing sister," she said as soon as Neva finished talking. Shaking her head a bit she continued to look over at Neva. "It's quite alright, Ul'dah is a wonderful place for information. I'm here for information on...some sort of potion or stone that'll help me fix my memory." she was being blunt and felt like she didn't have anything to hide from Neva, it wasn't like her in the past to spill information to a stranger. "So your sister...any idea where she might be or what she looks like?" she asked her in a questionable tone. It felt almost right that she was questioning Neva, almost as if she knew the answers. -d-
A potion to recover one's memory? Now that was something interesting to think about. Neva hadn't ever heard of something like that existing in Eorzea, and she'd met quite a few fortune tellers and shamans. But regardless, Star was asking her questions now. Questions about Nola. "Her name would be Nola Raknea. She'd probably be my height, but maybe shorter. She's got one purple eye and one gold eye, and she looks way more Seeker than I do." Neva laughed softly. "She took after her dad and I took after our mom. I'm not sure anything beyond that. It's been over 10 years since I've last seen her." Neva looked downwards, her ears folding against her head. A heavy weight settled in her stomach. Was Nola still alive? -d-
"Nola Raknea?" she repeated and took a moment too think. Had her memory been there, she'd remember that she was the Miqo'te that was hanging around A'vette and company. "I've never met a Nola before..." she said bluntly and then reached over to pet Neva on top of the head. "But don't fret so quickly, you just arrived no?" she gave Neva a wide smile. "You can't expect her to be dead!!" she stated and soon stood up from her seat. "How's about you and I look around for a bit? Prehaps we'll get lucky." -d-
Neva's ears perked up, and she forced a smile onto her face. Star was right! She'd only just gotten her freedom back. There was no where to go but up! "You're right." Neva nodded in determination. "Someone must know something about her. Ul'dah is so big and has so many people. Our tribe was located near Little Ala Mhigo. She must have come here once before at least in these past few years." Neva nodded again. She spun around and immediately began walking towards the red haired Lalafell. Mid-step, she turned around to look at Star. "Thank you," she said, her eyes crinkling at the corners. "Thank you for helping me." -d-
A small smile crossed over her face and she followed behind Neva, "You're welcome." she said gently and soon found herself feeling somewhat normal again. How she really was, helping people who needed it. "The lalafell over this bar might help, but I don't think she's going to know much." she stated as she leaned against the wall examining her bag. Could this jog her memory if she traveled with this Miqo'te for a bit? Prehaps that's all she needed. -d-
Neva swiped her tongue over her fangs nervously, before steeling herself. "Hi there," she said, almost softly. The red haired Lalafell looked up. "Hi there!" she responded brightly. "My name's Momodi, and I'm the proprietor of this here establishment. What can I do for you today? Haven't seen you before." Neva shook her head. "No, you wouldn't have. I'm new around here. Just looking to get my feet wet into adventuring. I was also wondering, might you have any information or know of anyone who could get me some information on the whereabouts of a person?" Momodi blinked. "Depends on the person," the Lalafell wiped her hands on her smock. "Who might you be looking for?" Neva explained her situation, but Momodi looked doubtful. "You'll probably need to do a little more looking around. There's a lot of Miqo'te around these parts." Neva turned to Star with a small sigh. "That's what I thought," she laughed. "Well, I do need to learn how to fight too, if I wanna be an adventurer. Is there anywhere in particular you want to go?" -d-
Star pressed her lips together and began to think, "It depends on what you want to do...magiks or sword based," she said and then looked to Neva gripping her shoulder gently. "Don't worry just yet, one step at a time." she stated as she began to walk towards the doors of Quicksand, "What were you doing before searching for your sister?" she was curious and it showed on her face. "I was told before I lost my memory that I explored Eorzea and studied languages that were long forgotten." -d-
Neva thought about it. She had always been more inclined to the magiks. "Magiks I think," she answered, after a period of thought. "I heard the Thaumaturge guild is here in Ul'dah. Perhaps there might be room for one more pupil?" Neva followed Star to the doors of the Quicksand. "Now that sounds really interesting!" Neva's ears perked up. "Forgotten languages?" Neva had to suppress the urge to ask more questions, knowing that, after all, Star's memories were now lost. "That sounds so cool." Neva looked around as they walked back out into the desert heat. "Which way to the Thaumaturge guild, I wonder..." -d-
"Thaumaturge....so black magik," she said with a small nod of her head and placed her hood back on too hide herself from the heat. "I-I think allagan mainly, not really sure." she shook her head a bit and pointed to her left. "If you follow the street all the way to the end, you'll find the thaumaturge guild." she reached into her bag and pulled out a small glowing blue linkshell. "If you need to get in touch with me, just use this. For now, I'm going to continue looking around Ul'dah for answers." she took one step away from Neva. "I'm only one call away." she stated with a smile. The linkshell she had granted Neva was a newly formed one, her old shell was so full of people she wasn't sure of. -d-
Black magik. Neva couldn't help the small smile that lit her face. "I like the explosions," she admitted with a small laugh. She perked up in surprise, when Star handed her the linkshell. She'd never seen one in person before. Only the trope master had had one, and he'd used it to keep track of everyone in the trope. "I was part of a performing trope," Neva answered Star's previous question. "Although it wasn't really by choice," she added somewhat as an afterthought. "But Star, thank you. Thank you for your help. I'll definitely be calling you on this, even just to talk." She laughed. -d-
